Reimagining PE for the Whole Child Experience
Physical Education can be so much more than sports, games, or just a routine activity in the curriculum. At Wired for Movement, we believe there is a natural connection between physical education and physical therapy. Bringing the developmental depth of therapeutic movement into the creativity and inclusiveness of the PE hall is a golden opportunity to help children thrive.
Our 3 Step Process for PE: Activation, Exploration, Integration
Wired for Movement uses a structured three stage process that reflects how the brain and body develop skills through stimulation, exploration, and integration.
This fusion of physical education and therapeutic movement creates something new and exciting, PE lessons blended with dynamic motor sensory games, physical development techniques, and mind body strategies. The result is a holistic experience where every child can progress confidently and competently while enjoying every minute of their lesson.
That holistic experience is at the heart of Wired for Movement and is why we created our three step process of Activation, Exploration, and Integration. Each lesson begins with Activation games; big, fun, and engaging activities that gently stimulate the focus area for quick success. The second step is Exploration. These creative, drama rich, and non goal oriented games invite children to experiment, express ideas, and use imagination through movement. The final step, Integration, brings focus and challenge. These more complex, skill based games can be competitive, collaborative, or individually challenging, consolidating the previous steps and refining control and ability, for lasting improvement.
All our PE Lesson Plans are built around this three step process. Every PE plan downloaded from our shop, or the School Hub, is pre planned, includes every game and is ready to go, making it easy for teachers and support staff to deliver. Each plan and every lesson is fun, engaging, challenging, and holistic, all while focusing on improving a key physical or sensory area. Every lesson a success.

Activation Games
Stimulate the cerebellum, the part of the brain that helps with balance, timing, and motor control. These are playful, physical, and perfect for improving motor skills and preparing the body and brain for learning.

Exploration Games
Open up imagination, curiosity, and emotional connection. These activate the limbic system, the brain’s emotional and motivational centre. Exploration games help process emotions, nurtures creativity, imagination, experimentation, and expressive movement.

Integration Games
Require control, skill, and concentration. These target the cerebral cortex and prefrontal areas, which support attention, memory, higher thinking, decision-making, and cognitive functions.
